Web 2.0 Evidence:
The Good Website:
The Rosmini School site!:
Particular highlights are the easy navigation bar- above the picture and below the Rosmini Crest- It remains consistent throughout all pages making it easy to navigate around the site.
The upcoming events and latest news on the left and right of centre are every changing yet the location is always the same.
The colour- Large areas of Blue And the Heading bars in Red (Red and blue are the rosmini colours as you can see from the Rugby strip!)
The Poor Website:
Here is our School Management System- Web based but look at the setup:
Wasted White Space on the top highlighting nothing.
Multiple repeated shortcut icons. Why not have these as a sub-menu?
Poor screen set-up. Notice the 2 vertical scrollbars on the right- A window inside a window, neither of which fits in a screen.
Evidence of Drawing/Shading.
And evidence of why I draw in 3d-on a computer!
I have made the effort to create a sketch of a MANLY jeep for my driving game. While I get the idea of the shapes to give it bulk and muscle. The shading gives it a bit more depth and realism. I wouldn’t, however, choose to sketch pseudo3d- rather just attempt a side/front/top view sketch like an architects plans in order to get it into 3d. Hope this is fun to look at though!
Another Game Project
To show my animation skills for IMPD!
I modelled, textured, rigged and animated this Minecraft Steve for a Unity3d Multiplayer Shooter I made (actually I did get the Steve texture from google images….) I just quickly used Blender to create this loop of the model in his walk animation. hope it shows that I can animate!
What I learned about Photography at IMPD
One of the most important things was the 1-third/2-third rule. Moving the train engine out of the centre of the photo makes a more pleasant look. The rich colours took a bit of tweaking with the exposure but it was worth it.
In the second photo (my boy up at the Upper Nihotupu Dam) I set the focus on him before moving him off centre. You get the see the Dam disappear off in the distance and this accentuates it’s length. The funny face was just a bonus!
Terrain example. Note- I didn’t use a high enough texture resolution, I’ll get it right next time.
My Second effort on the Sculptris course. Imported an OBJ from Blender and Sculpted it. Not painted this time. Just used a simple material. Scary teeth though…….
Here’s our Sculptris Course work. Not the best face but at least I have some stubble!
So the gallery got some good comments and I have started work on my next set of tutorials for unity/blender/C#. Another monster truck racing game………..
Yes.you just use the scroll wheel on the mouse. I found it sometimes didn’t work but clicking on the screen again tends to fix it.
I am glad you enjoyed it!
Here it is! The finished interactive gallery.
